Sometimes
antibiotics may cause diarrhea. You are not supposed to treat this symptom before you talk to you health care provider, as this may indicate some new infection. In general, you need to report any symptoms that appear to be bothersome or seem serious, especially such as watery or bloody diarrhea, sore throat, nausea, chest pain, low fever, loss of appetite, peeling, red skin rash, clay-colored stools, jaundice, or uneven heartbeats to your health care provider to make sure they are given proper attention. Some other side effects you may experience can include mild itching, vaginal itching, decreased sense of taste, stomach pain, mild nausea, dizziness, sleep problems, ringing in your ears, diarrhea, constipation, headache, vomiting, and tired feeling. These side effects are not expected to last for too long or interfere with the success of your treatment. You will not need to report them as they will probably go away on their own. If you ever had an allergic reaction to this medication or any drugs that belong to similar groups of antibiotics (clarithromycin, telithromycin, erythromycin, and troleandomycin), taking
Zithromax is not recommended as an allergic reaction is possible again. The following are the symptoms of an allergic reaction to
Zithromax: hives, rash, swelling, and trouble breathing.
