There are a number of medicines that have been reported to cause interference with Zithromax and they all need to be reported to your doctor. You need to mention even vitamins and herbal supplements, although it’s most important to mention the following drugs in case of using them at the moment: phenytoin, calcium channel blockers, ergot medicines, other antibiotics, theophylline, carbamazepine, cyclosporine, HIV medicines, triazolam, pimozide, warfarin, and digoxin. It’s not recommended to take this drug along with antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium. Make sure at least 2 hours pass between your dose of Zithromax and some antacid to provide for safe and efficient treatment. Zithromax is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. However, it is not known for sure whether this medicine can affect the health of a nursing infant. Therefore, you are not supposed to use Zithromax if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before discussing it with your health care provider. If you think you may have taken too much of Zithromax, seek emergency medical help. The following symptoms may indicate an overdose: stomach discomfort, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. Always take the exact amount of this medicine prescribed. Let your doctor know if you have or ever had myasthenia gravis, history of Long QT syndrome, heart rhythm disorder, kidney disease, or liver disease, as these medical conditions may affect the dose you are prescribed.
